Images taken during a recent tour thru Arizona with the Grand Canyon the major stopping point of the journey.
The Grand Canyon’s weather was very diverse during our 4-day visit. The temperature ranged from the upper 80’s to the upper 40’s at night. It rained 3 of the 4 days we visited the canyon. The experience is something everyone should enjoy in their lifetime. You do not have to hike any of the trails there to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon is probably the world's most specactular example of the power of erosion-a chasm 277 miles long (measured by river coourse) and up to 18 miles wide. The canyon bottom Yavapai Point is 2,400 feet below sea level, 4,500 feet below the South Rim and 5,400 feet below the North Rim-making an average depth of about one mile.
More information on the Grand Canyon can be found at this location. http://www.nps.gov/grca/index.htm
